Michael M. Spickard, MAAA, MSPA, QPA, CPC, EA – Chief Executive Officer

Mike is the Chief Executive Officer of Summit Retirement Plan Services. In addition to being an Enrolled Actuary and Certified Pension Consultant, he is a Member of the American Society of Pension Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. From 1990 to 1996, Mike was employed by Schwab Retirement Plan Services as the Director of Actuarial Services and was responsible for all Defined Benefit Plan operations. Mike was also an integral part of the management team that helped create the daily valuation product that became the Schwabplan® , Charles Schwab’s national 401(k) program.
In May 2007, Mike was appointed by the Department of Treasury to the Advisory Committee on Taxation (ACT) – Employee Benefits Group. The purpose of the ACT is to allow the IRS to receive regular input from the private sector with respect to the development of administrative policy and procedures of the Tax Exempt and Government Entities Division.
Mike graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Akron with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Mathematics.
John Harabedian, QPA – Chief Operating Officer

John is our new Chief Operating Officer and has over 23 years of experience in the retirement plan industry. He is responsible for leadership and management of Summit’s three business units: Defined Contribution, Defined Benefit and Benefits Administration-Outsourcing. He began his career in Akron, Ohio for a company that became Schwab Retirement Plan Services.
Prior to joining Summit, John was the Vice President and General Manager for Schwab Retirement Plan Services in Phoenix, Arizona. In addition to extensive operational experience he has worked in client services, conversion, compliance, relationship management and the call center.
John earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Akron and completed the Financial Management Program for Senior Executives at Harvard Business School.
